I met Pete five years ago while working Tech as a volunteer with Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing. I had purchased a 1973 Triumph GT6 to build into a race car, but the car had been sitting in the mud for over 15 years. Pete built the race motor, and had a hand in every aspect for the car and driver’s successful development for over 5 years.
Pete is an honest no “BS” straight shooter who will explain ALL aspects of your project from beginning to end As a former employee of Los Alamos National Laboratory I compare Pete’s shop to the labs facilities in cleanliness, quality of equipment, and professional workmanship. At the race track Pete is in “HIGH DEMAND” for his expertise, friendly advice, and a good joke.
I highly recommend Total Precision Engines for your street car, race car, or show car engine or restoration needs. There is none better.

Pete Christensen at Total Precision Engines built my current race motor and it is a bullet! I had Pete go through a couple set of heads for me and was always impressed with his knowledge and attention to detail. His shop is also immaculate, which speaks volumes about the quality of the product. When it came time to build a real race engine for my vintage trans-am car (1969 Firebird) I went to Pete and we put together a plan for a front-running vintage-legal iron head SBC. Pete knows how to make power and ensure longevity. His component selection including custom pistons and cam were spot on. That 302 Chevy is now nearing the end of its second full season with about 24 hours of hard racing on it and it’s as strong as ever! Pete’s dedication to quality and the fact that he is a racer and knows the needs of racers makes all the difference. I consider Pete a friend and I send my other friends to his shop and will continue to work with him as long as I can still stab a throttle!

Pete at Total Precision Engines is the real deal! You can easily see when you walk in to the spotlessly clean shop and see the top notch equipment that you will be getting top notch work and Pete delivers just that. He built a Kent X-flow race engine for my vintage Formula Ford, changing a car that, if I’m honest, was pretty much a dog, into a potential front runner in the very competitive vintage Formula Ford class. Picking up your engine is not the end of the service. Pete follows through to make sure your project performs.
I will certainly look to Total Precision Engines for my future engine, safety equipment, and race set up needs and strongly recommend Pete and TPE.

Pete built a 383 Stroker for my 1972 El Camino. I told him what I wanted and he delivered. I was always welcomed at the shop while he was building my project and still am. He didn’t stop providing service after I picked up my Engine either, I had several questions while I was installing the motor and Pete answered them all even though most didn’t pertain to the work he had performed. Pete is a true professional who seems to enjoy helping people with their projects and loves what he does. I would recommend Total Precision Engines to anyone with an engine project. By the way the thing rips down the strip and is turn key reliable.
I’ve taken several projects to Total Precision Engines over the years, some big and some small. Pete has always shown the same attention to detail no matter what my project was. The prices are fair and the work is top notch. I always know that I can rely on things getting done right and that piece of mind is important. Thanks Pete
